About Us

Our store was established here in Salisbury, Massachusetts in 1913. The process we use to make our candy has improved by the addition of some modern machinery, but for the most part we make our candy in the same fashion as our founders. We operate the same hand presses to make and shape our cream filled chocolates. Each piece is hand-dipped in chocolate and initialed for identification of flavor, a technique passed down and our trademark of quality, perfection and pride.

Our fudge is made fresh from quality ingredients using the same family recipes that built and maintained the family business over the past century. Our Penuche fudge is a house specialty and second to none. The quantity of fudge we make and sell in our little store is evidence of the reputation we have built over the years. Our Salt Water Taffy is a salute to Salisbury Beach. Although portions of process have been updated, the taffy puller and wrapper are hard working relics of the past.

Facinating as it is to watch the taffy stretched over and over by the long arms of our taffy puller, combined with the complex workings of the old time taffy wrapper, creates taffy that melts in your mouth from the first bite. There is simply no other way to get the delicious flavor and wonderful texture from a taffy than the way we were taught so many years ago. Some methods need not be changed.

All of our nuts are fresh-roasted in our store, again to provide you the freshest ingredients possible for the best candy you can find. We sell our fresh-roasted jumbo cashews salted and unsalted by the pound upon request.
